14 nabbed in Tuaran drug ops
Among the individuals detained by AADK.
Tuaran: A mother who attempted to prevent officers from the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) from arresting her son over suspected drug abuse eventually calmed down after being briefed on the offence committed.

During an AADK Ops Cegah operation here on Friday, the woman initially pleaded with officers not to detain her son but later accepted the enforcement action after the operation commander explained that her son had tested positive for methamphetamine (syabu).

Tuaran AADK Chief Helmy Freddy, who led the operation, said a total of 14 individuals were arrested under the Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983 after testing positive for syabu.

Helmy said the operation was carried out with the assistance of the Sabah AADK Enforcement Unit following public complaints regarding drug abuse activities in several areas around the district.
