LAHAD DATU: Police arrested four men and seized 32.65 grams of syabu following operations across the district on Thursday.
District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner of Police Dzulbaharin said the suspects were detained during the four-hours Op Tapis carried out by Narcotic Crime Investigation Department (JSJN) of Sabah Police Contingent with Narcotic Crime Investigation Division (BSJND).

He said acting on information, the team stopped a Proton Saga at about 9am in the parking area at Jalan Dam.
“The result of inspection found 86 small packets containing syabu weighing 32.60 grams hidden inside a black bag with two mobile phones and a vehicle. Two suspects were detained under Section 39A(2) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952,” he said.
According to Dzulbaharin, a few hours later, the team raided a rental room in Jalan Reno Fajar and arrested two men who were in suspicious conditions.
The raid resulted in a seizure of 0.05 grams of Syabu inside a cigarette box with aluminium foil and a modified straw.
Urine tests conducted found both suspects positive for taking amphetamine and methamphetamine. Checks on the suspects found they have previous criminal records related to drugs.
He said the case would be investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952.
Dzulbaharin said the 32.65 grams of Syabu seized in the operations could destroyed the future of hundred of drug addicts and Lahad Datu Police is committed in combating drug activities in this district.
