LAHAD DATU: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) coordinated a medical evacuation (Medevac) operation involving a German tourist who lost consciousness while snorkelling off Pulau Sakar on Wednesday.

He said the operations centre immediately instructed the Cenderawasih 02 patrol boat, which was on duty in the area, to proceed to the location and transport the tourist to the Lahad Datu Fisheries Jetty for medical assistance.

The tourist, identified as 78-year-old German national Kenneth Ray Crouse, was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by a friend at the scene.
