Kota Kinabalu: Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) President Datuk Chin Su Phin encouraged the Luyang Community Development Leader Unit (Luyang UPPM) to continue serving as a vital bridge between the Government and the grassroots community.

He said this during a visit to the Luyang Community Development Leader Office, accompanied by LDP Vice President David Ong, Women’s Chief and Likas Community Development Leader and Information Chief Nicholas Ban.

The delegation held a working discussion with Luyang Community Development Leader Simon Chin and his team on community issues affecting Luyang residents, including faulty streetlights, insufficient road lighting and potholes.

“As a government representative unit, the Community Development Leader Office serves as the eyes and ears of the Government,” Chin said, adding that the office plays an important role in conveying accurate information to the public and explaining government initiatives and policy achievements.

He reminded the office to carry out its responsibilities diligently and ensure that government policies and development programmes genuinely benefit the people of Sabah.

Chin also noted that as the only local Chinese-based party currently represented in the State Government, LDP would continue to make full use of its role within the government system to serve the community, particularly the Chinese community, while assisting in resolving local issues in the Luyang and Likas areas under the Kota Kinabalu parliamentary constituency.
