Hajiji said the number of poor KIR also dropped from 70,298 in January 2026 to 57,710 in May 2026, representing a 17.9 per cent reduction within four months.
Speaking at the launch of the Sentuhan Kasih Rakyat (Syukur) Outreach Programme for Tuaran district at Dewan Sri Sulaman on Tuesday, he said the number of poor household heads and household members (AIR) decreased from 743,939 to 577,110 during the same period.
He said while achieving zero hardcore poor KIR was an important milestone, the State Government would continue efforts under SMJ 2.0 to reduce poverty through targeted and sustainable development programmes.
