Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Southern Madani Link project will strengthen Sabah’s electricity supply system and support the State’s future economic development, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
He said the project was a strategic investment that would enhance the stability, reliability and sustainability of Sabah’s energy sector beyond meeting current electricity needs.

Hajiji said the initiative would strengthen the State’s electricity transmission network, improve grid stability and reduce the risk of power disruptions affecting industries and the public.
He said strategic sectors including manufacturing, oil and gas, downstream processing, tourism, modern agriculture, digital data centres and technology-based industries would benefit from a stable and sufficient power supply.
Speaking at the launch of the project officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the Lundayeh Cultural Association Complex here on Saturday, he said the project reflected cooperation between the State and Federal Governments.
Hajiji said Sabah would continue developing its energy sector through the Sabah Energy Roadmap and Master Plan (SE-RAMP) 2040, including efforts to expand renewable energy resources and strengthen energy security.
