PUTATAN: United Progressive Kinabalu Organisation (Upko) is setting its sights on the Putatan parliamentary seat while calling for all local parties to join forces to build a stable, Sarawak-style government.
Upko Putatan division chief Datuk Dr Marcus Mojigoh said although the party has not yet finalised a candidate, it is actively preparing for future contests.

He flagged former Tanjung Keramat state seat candidate Jason Lee as a potential future leader and possible election contender, noting Lee could be fielded under the GRS banner should he take over the division leadership.
Drawing inspiration from Sarawak’s political model, Marcus urged greater cooperation across party lines.
He made a direct appeal to Warisan president Datuk Seri Panglima Mohd Shafie Apdal to set aside differences and join the state government alongside Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor.
“Warisan should not stay in opposition. Come join GRS — this is how we start uniting all Sabah-based parties,” he said.
“We must work as one team, regardless of background, to protect our state’s interests and secure lasting stability.”
