KUNAK: Police are investigating the theft of a donation box from Masjid Nurul Iman here on Thursday.

Kunak police chief Supt Rejali Angong said investigators are examining closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showing an individual carrying the mosque's donation box out of the premises.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code.

A police report has been lodged and the CCTV footage has been handed over to the police for further action.

Meanwhile, a post on the official Facebook page of Masjid Nurul Iman Pekan Kunak showed CCTV footage of a man dressed in dark clothing and shorts carrying what is believed to be the donation box, which was later found outside the mosque compound.
