Donation box theft from Kunak mosque
KUNAK: Police are investigating the theft of a donation box from Nurul Iman Mosque in town on Thursday.

Kunak District Police Chief Superintendent Rejali Ak Angong said investigations were ongoing based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage that showed an individual carrying a donation box out of the mosque.

“The case is being investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code,” he said.

A police report has been lodged and the CCTV footage was handed over to the police for further action.

Meanwhile, a post on the official Facebook page of Nurul Iman Mosque, shared the CCTV footage which showed a man dressed in dark clothing and shorts carrying what is believed to be the mosque’s donation box.

The donation box was later found outside the mosque compound.
