Kota Kinabalu: The Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM) Sabah Branch convened its Young Engineers Section (YES) Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the IEM Sabah Office here on Monday.
The event was attended by IEM Sabah Branch Chairman Tan KJ, together with branch leaders including Honorary Secretary Wong Chen Jack, YES Advisor Wah Kheng Haw, Vice Chairman II Dr Michael Tay Tshung Wang, YES Chairman Lee Tze Yei, Vice Chairman I Yap Kok Wai Paul, and Advisor of the IEM-UMS Student Section Dr Chua Bih Lii.
A total of 50 members representing the IEM-UMS Student Section, government agencies, private sector organisations, UMS students, Polytechnic and the Young Engineers Section participated in the AGM.
In his opening address, Lee highlighted several achievements recorded during the term, including IEM YES Sabah Branch securing the IEM Outstanding Branch Award for the third consecutive year at the National Summit since 2024.
He also expressed appreciation to IEM Sabah Branch and the Women Engineers (WE) Section for their continued support towards the implementation of various IEM initiatives and activities.
The AGM proceeded with the confirmation of the previous meeting minutes, followed by the YES Chairman’s report covering the financial report, activity report and achievements for the term.
Reports were also presented by the Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer on completed activities, upcoming programmes and the branch’s financial standing.
During the presentation, Lee said IEM YES Sabah Branch had successfully conducted 70 activities throughout the 2025/2026 term.
The newly elected high committee members for the term are Mohd Adhan Izmi Roslan as Vice Chairman I, Albert Chai Jiin Tsong as Vice Chairman II, Ivy Cassandra Moison as Honorary Secretary, and Aimi Nazurah Jamain as Honorary Treasurer.
The committee members comprise Natassha Wilis, Daniel Tan Thian Zhe, Muhammad Aniq Azraei Suradi, Mohd Nazreen Shah Baharun Alam, Jenny Thomas, Richie Antonio Soloh, Sofea Nor Eliza Binti Ruzalie, Harald Jungkim, Sharlene Lee, Mohd Nisham Chong, Iddin Tiwol Dr. Nurul Shahadahtul Afizah Asman, Eliezer Nevall Anthony and Ruzaithy Azhnie Justi.
The AGM concluded with the newly elected committee reaffirming its commitment towards strengthening the engineering profession and contributing to Sabah’s development agenda.
