Two Filipinos nabbed with syabu in Tuaran
Tuaran: Two Filipino men were arrested with 65.04 grammes of syabu worth RM3,252 during a raid at Taman Telipok Ria here, Saturday.

According to a statement by the Sabah contingent Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID), one of the suspects attempted to flee during the operation at about 6.50pm, after realising the presence of police personnel.

But the raiding team successfully apprehended the suspect while the other suspect was detained at the scene.

Police also seized four mobile phones of various brands, RM3,180 in cash, a Proton Preve and a pair of denim shorts believed to be linked to drug trafficking activities.

Preliminary urine screening tests found both suspects, aged 35 and 28, tested negative for drugs and had no prior criminal records.

Initial investigations also revealed that the drugs were believed to have been sold in small quantities in the area.

The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
