KOTA KINABALU: Governor Tun Musa Aman has announced a sweeping infrastructure agenda for Sabah, prioritizing logistics, utility stability, and disaster resilience.
Delivering his policy speech at the opening of the 17th State Legislative Assembly on Thursday, the Governor highlighted a landmark feasibility study for a modern railway system connecting Putatan to the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park and Sepanggar Port to revolutionize the state's logistics network.
This initiative is complemented by the Sabah Sustainable Transport Master Plan and the Stage Bus Transformation Programme in Kota Kinabalu, both aimed at creating an efficient public transport ecosystem while reducing the development gap through the Rural Small Bridge Project.
To address utility challenges, the state is intensifying efforts to reduce non-revenue water losses across 12 districts and upgrading water treatment plants statewide.
In the energy sector, Sabah is implementing a Long-Term Electricity Supply Plan that diversifies generation sources through renewable energy, natural gas peaking plants, and battery energy storage systems.
Efforts to stabilize power on the East Coast will be bolstered by the Southern Link Transmission Line Project.
