LABUAN: SMK Pantai’s Under-15 boys’ team retained their title at the Majlis Sukan Sekolah Wilayah Persekutuan Labuan (MSSWPL) Chess Championship 2026.
The tournament was held from April 13 to 15 at Labuan Matriculation College (KML).
The team was crowned champions in the L15 category, marking another strong performance at the annual event.
A spokesperson said the success was driven by a group of talented players who displayed determination throughout the competition.
Reuben Ronald Lamund (3 UKM) emerged as champion in the L15 category, while Mohamad Shahrul Nizar Sani (2 UM) secured fifth place.
Other players who contributed to the team’s success included Christian Marc Junior (2 UM) and Hayward Steve anak Evan (1 UUM).

The victory marked the team’s third title in the category, having also won in 2024 and 2025.
The team extended appreciation to coach Cikgu Jasiman for his role in guiding the players to success.
