KENINGAU: Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kampung Biah has been selected as a Madani Adopted School under an initiative by the Department of Minerals and Geoscience Malaysia (JMG) Sabah.
The selection comes with an allocation of RM100,000 to upgrade the school’s learning facilities.
SK Kampung Biah is among the early recipients of the initiative, following SK Kundasang in Ranau.
The programme was officiated by Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup. He said the initiative aims to create a more conducive and competitive teaching and learning environment.
It also seeks to improve school facilities while fostering community awareness and shared responsibility towards educational development.
Arthur reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to expanding the initiative to more schools, particularly in rural areas.
He added that efforts are ongoing to secure additional allocations and identify suitable schools to help bridge the urban-rural education gap, expressing hope that more schools would benefit from the programme.
