SANDAKAN: Sawit Kinabalu Group Chairman Datuk Hazem Mubarak Tun Musa has welcomed a proposal to relocate the Sawit Kinabalu Sandakan Regional Office to the Sawit Kinabalu Sandakan Industrial Park (SKSIP), formerly known as the Palm Oil Industrial Cluster, here.
He said the move was appropriate given the availability of ample space at the site to accommodate Regional Office staff.
“We welcome any proposals or improvements concerning Sawit Kinabalu’s Sandakan Region,” he said.
Hazem said this during a Hari Raya Aidilfitri gathering with Sandakan Regional staff at Sawit Bulkers, SKSIP, on Tuesday.
He also expressed hope that SKSIP personnel would remain committed to contributing towards the economic development of Sandakan and Sabah.
Hazem conveyed his appreciation for the efforts and commitment shown by SKSIP staff in carrying out their duties with integrity and dedication.
Earlier, Sawit Kinabalu Group Managing Director Datuk Victor Ationg highlighted the need to relocate the Sandakan Regional Office, noting that the existing premises at Jalan Lalang, Mile 1.5, which has been in operation for nearly 50 years, is now outdated.
He said the current location, situated on a hillside, is unsuitable for further development or upgrading.
Victor proposed that the office and its workforce be relocated to SKSIP, which offers a more spacious environment and greater potential for future expansion.
He added that the site is also suitable for hosting related corporate and community events.
Victor further commended staff for their hard work and commitment in ensuring their responsibilities are carried out to the highest standard. He said the annual festive gathering, held across several regional offices, serves to strengthen camaraderie and foster closer ties among employees.
Also present were Sandakan Regional General Manager Mohd Muazam Syah Idris and Board Members Datuk Zakaria Mohd Edris, Datuk Maming Staming, Datuk Abd Rahman Kongkawang, Mohd Bahrin Abd Karim and Fred Stanley Sinidol.
