KUDAT: Seven houses were destroyed in a fire at Kampung Gumpa, here, Thursday morning.
A 46-year-old man sustained burns to his shoulder in the incident.
The fire also destroyed a Proton Satria car and two motorcycles, all of which were completely burnt.
Kudat Fire and Rescue Station chief Darikson Galanang said 16 firefighters from the station responded to the incident.
They were assisted by seven members of the Kampung Air Kudat Volunteer Fire Brigade in extinguishing the blaze.
Darikson said the department received the emergency call at 10.38am and arrived at the scene three minutes later.
The fire was brought under control at 11.47am before being fully extinguished at 2.15pm.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred were not immediately known.
