Man held with petrol, cooking oil and sugar in Kudat waters

KUDAT: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has received a case under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 from the Marine Police Force (PPM).

District Enforcement Chief Nazatul Shima Karim said the case involved the arrest of a 45-year-old local man detained by the Marine Police at the mouth of Sungai Kampung Kimihang.

She said the man was found on a blue pump boat without a registration number, carrying controlled items without valid documents or permission.

Further inspection revealed the suspect, believed to be the boat owner, was transporting 1,400 litres of petrol in seven metal drums, 408kg of cooking oil and 168kg of coarse sugar.
