SIPITANG: A fire broke out at a used oil storage site at the former SFI factory in Sipitang on Friday afternoon.
The Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 4.30pm and arrived at the scene, located about 9km away, at 4.42pm.
Firefighters confirmed the blaze and extinguished it using foam and water from a fire engine, with assistance from an excavator provided by a contractor to facilitate operations.
The fire was brought under control at 6.44pm and the operation concluded at 7.51pm, with no casualties reported.
