Tova Noel, 37, was one of two officers at the Metropolitan Correctional Center responsible for overseeing Epstein in the days leading up to his trial on federal sex-trafficking charges.
Her colleague, Michael Thomas, discovered Epstein hanging in his cell at about 6.30am on August 10, 2019.
Documents released on Thursday by the United States Department of Justice showed Noel searched online for “latest on epstein in jail” about 40 minutes before the body was found.
The records, first reported by the New York Post, also showed searches at 5.42am and 5.52am, along with look-ups related to two other inmates held at the prison, identified as Kenyatta Taiste and Omar Amanat.
