Golimbi again Penampang tourism association head
The 2026-2027 Penampang Tourism Association line-up led by Benjamin Golimbi.
PENAMPANG: Benjamin Golimbi returned unopposed as President of the Penampang Tourism Association (PTA) for the 2026-2027 term at the association’s recent annual general meeting.

Golimbi thanked members for their continued trust and pledged to strengthen community-based tourism while promoting Penampang as a key cultural and eco-tourism destination in Sabah.

He would be assisted by Vice President Jecky Lettong (legal advisor & homestay), secretary Bacho Lahadatang (Community-Based Tourism), treasurer Stephan George (Cultural & Events), and committee members Samson Shak (Birds & Mammals), Jupiri Apou (Health, Safety & Environment), Norhanida Anol (Herbs & Traditional Culinary), Louis Irik (Hiking & Trekking), Viola G. Dompok (Cultures & Traditions) and Shasha Shamilee (Public Relations).

He said the association would continue focusing on strengthening homestay programmes, cultural activities, eco-tourism initiatives and opportunities for local entrepreneurs, particularly in rural areas.

He also expressed the association’s readiness to work closely with Penampang Municipal Council President Noemi Dyena Johntren to further enhance tourism development in the district.

PTA supports the vision of assemblyman for Moyog Datuk Donald P. Mojuntin and Member of Parliament for Penampang Datuk Ewon Benedick, who is also Deputy Chief Minister III and State Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport, in positioning Penampang as a vibrant tourism hub.

Golimbi said Penampang’s rich Kadazandusun heritage, natural attractions and strong community participation provide a solid foundation for sustainable tourism growth.
