PAPAR: WSG Group managing director Datuk Susan Wong officially handed over the keys to Affin Bank, recently, marking the bank’s upcoming expansion at the Parklane City commercial centre in Benoni here.

She said the bank is expected to commence operation in May this year upon the completion of renovation works, which will provide more convenient and diverse financial services to residents in the Papar area.

“Affin Bank’s entry would not only further enhance the local financial infrastructure, but also inject new momentum into Papar’s commercial development.

“The bank would be able to leverage the area’s strategic advantages to actively expand both retail and corporate banking services, in effort to grow together with the local community and business sector,” she said.

Kota Kinabalu: KOTA KINABALU: Fiesta Mega Raya (FMR) 2026 is set to be the largest and most prestigious Hari Raya celebration in Sabah, taking place from March 7 to 18, at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here.
Susan said this after handing over the keys to the Head of Property and Projects of Affin Bank, Syukri Bin Abdullah and his team at Benoni Sales Gallery.

Affin Bank is the third financial institution to establish a presence in Parklane City, following the opening of Co-opbank Pertama Malaysia and Sabah Credit Corporation.

Susan said this reflects strong confidence from the financial sector in the Benoni New Township’s economic potential, market vibrancy, and long-term development prospects.

“The banking and financial institutions were attracted not only to the population growth and increasingly vibrant commercial activity, but also the commercial centre’s comprehensive planning, convenient road network, and the integrated township ecosystem,” she said.

She welcomed Affin Bank’s establishment in Parklane City and expressed appreciation to banks, institutions, and well-known brands that have continued to show confidence in the development of the Benoni New Township project.

“With more reputable establishments moving in, the area is steadily emerging as a new key commercial and service hub.”

Affin Bank’s new branch is strategically located within the Benoni–Parklane City Commercial Centre, directly facing the popular A&W restaurant and 10Star Cinemas, offering high visibility and strong pedestrian traffic.

Susan said the branch will occupy two adjoining double-storey corner shop lots with a total floor area of nearly 6,000 square feet, which will enable the bank to provide comprehensive and efficient financial services to both individual and corporate clients.

Affin Bank is one of Malaysia’s major banking institutions, with business operations spanning community banking, corporate banking, commercial banking, treasury, and investment banking.

Looking forward, Susan reaffirmed WSG Group’s commitment to continuously enhance the overall facilities and development blueprint of the Benoni–Parklane City Commercial Centre.

In addition to the ongoing luxury condominium development, she said plans are also in place for a comprehensive sports complex, boutique hotel, and a hypermarket to further elevate both lifestyle and commercial offerings in the area.

In addition, North Borneo University College has recently confirmed plans to establish a medical faculty in Parklane City.  The agreement is expected to be signed after Hari Raya Aidilfitri, with construction targeted for completion within two years.

With education, healthcare, residential, leisure, entertainment, and sports facilities progressively taking shape, Benoni–Parklane City in Papar is set to develop into a multi-core, high value-added integrated township.
