SANDAKAN: The General Operations Force (GOF) Battalion 15 defeated Sabah Parks 3-0 in the final to win the Sabah Wildlife Department Director’s Cup Football Championship 2026 on Sunday.
The two-day tournament was held at the Synthetic Football Field, Sandakan Sports Complex.

The GOF BN 15 received RM5, 000 in prize money, a challenge trophy, trophy and medals as champions.
Runners-up Sabah Parks took home RM3,000 with a trophy and medals, while The Cops PDRM and Wilmar shared third place, earning RM1,250 each along with trophies and medals.
Sabah Wildlife Department Director Mohd Soffian Abu Bakar presented the prizes and officiated the closing ceremony.
The GOF BN 15’s Abang Nur Afirman Abang Norazman was named best player, while teammate Michael Angelo Anak Yanto won the best goalkeeper award. Sabah Parks received the best team award.
Mohd Soffian said the event promoted inter-agency cooperation and raised public awareness about the department’s conservation efforts.
Sixteen teams from State and Federal government agencies and corporate bodies participated in the championship.
Sandakan Wildlife Department Head Hussein Muin also attended the ceremony.
