SEMPORNA: A compound was issued during the integrated enforcement operation carried out by the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) and the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) Sabah in business premises, here, on Wednesday.
The operation which serves as ongoing efforts to further monitoring and law enforcement to ensure fair trading practices in the district was accompanied by four KPDN personnel and three SSM personnel.

A total of 30 business premises were inspected including tourism premises to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Semporna KPDN Head of Branches, Satunlucy Lamioh @ Lamidah said, following the operation, a compound was issued under the Weights and Measures Act 1972 after the premise found using weighing equipment that had not been verified by an authorised inspector.
“The enforcement operation would be carry out from time to time to ensure the traders comply with the laws and regulations in order to protect the consumer rights, especially in Semporna and Kunak,” he added.
Members of the public were encouraged to report any concerns or information on business practices to assist enforcement agencies in maintaining an orderly and transparent trading environment.
