Kota Kinabalu: Everise Ventures Sdn Bhd, the management company of Sandakan Turf Club (STC), will distribute Chinese New Year ang pow and hampers to senior citizens aged 65 and above on Feb 1 in conjunction with the Year of the Horse.
The annual event will take place at the Putera Ballroom, Taman Tun Fuad in Bukit Padang, where eligible senior citizens of all races will receive ang pow packets and attend a lunch reception.
Registration opens on Jan 30 at 7am at the company’s head office at Wisma STC, No. 12, Lorong Tenggiling 4, Jalan Maktab Gaya, Luyang. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applicants must be 65 years old or older as of Feb 1, 2026, and must bring their identity cards for registration and age verification.
The event is open to senior citizens from all backgrounds, including those from underprivileged communities.
Everise Ventures Sdn Bhd President Tan Sri TC Goh and Sandakan Turf Club Executive Chairman Chong Fook Loi will personally distribute the ang pow and gift hampers at the event. The ceremony will also be attended by STC agents and staff.
The company said the initiative is part of its corporate social responsibility efforts and aligns with the government’s call to build a caring and compassionate society.
