Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Forestry Department has published the Proceedings of the 20th Malaysian Forestry Conference (MFC) which was hosted by the Department in Kota Kinabalu in October, 2024, with the theme “Harmonizing Forestry towards Sustainability”.
The 566-page effort comprise three keynote addresses, 24 working papers, 13 information papers and 30 posters which were presented during the conference.
Chief Conservator of Forests, Datuk Frederick Kugan, highlighted that sustainable forestry practices stand out as vital for the preservation of our planet’s ecosystems.
This incorporates balancing ecological, economic, and social aspects of forestry to ensure Malaysia’s forest resources are used in an innovative approach that meets the objectives of the United Nations Forum on Forests (UNFF) and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
