KOTA KINABALU: The chief warden of SMKA Tun Datu Mustapha told the court that the mother of Student A was aware that Zara Qairina Mahathir had conflicts with her mother and grandmother.
Azhari Abd Sagap, who was recalled as a deponent, testified that a teacher, Dayang Azira, had shared details of her conversation with Student A’s mother after the contents of two pages from Zara’s diaries were raised.
He said Student A’s mother told Dayang that Zara’s mother had previously come to see her, but Zara pretended not to know, and that after waiting for hours, Zara allegedly insulted her mother and grandmother, prompting her mother to leave.
When questioned by counsel Shahlan Jufri, Azhari said he could not recall when screenshots of the conversation were shared with him, but that Dayang had informed him on July 17 before he brought a student to the Papar police station to record a statement.
During the proceedings, Azhari produced several documents tendered as exhibits, including handwritten notes, screenshots of WhatsApp conversations, mental health screening pages, and items he said were found in or linked to Zara’s diaries, as well as a paper allegedly found on a school staircase and handed to him by Student D.
