KOTA KINABALU: An official report on the incident involving Zara Qairina Mahathir was forwarded to the State Education Department (JPN) and the District Education Office (PPD), the Coroner’s Court heard.
Principal of SMKA Tun Datu Mustapha, Shaharom Hashim, 51, told Coroner Amir Shah Amir Hassan that the report was prepared by the school’s student affairs secretary.

Recalled to testify following the revelation of students’ written statements, Shaharom said the report was submitted to the PPD and JPN but not directly through her.
Questioned by counsel Shahlan Jufri, she said she had first relayed the matter via WhatsApp before the coordination and subsequent developments were formally documented by the student affairs secretary.
She added that she had seen and gone through the three-page report before its submission, and that a copy was kept on her handphone.
In light of the new revelation, the coroner stood down proceedings to allow parties to examine the document.
