KENINGAU: A decomposed male body was found on a roadside slope along the Tulid–Tongod road near an oil palm estate in Kampung Nontodon on Wednesday.

Keningau district police chief Supt Yampil Anak Garai said the discovery was reported at about 8.16am on Wednesday after the public alerted police to a body at KM67.7 of the road in Sook.

Initial examination found the deceased to be a foreign national, with the body already in an advanced state of decomposition and infested with maggots.

Yampil said the location lay near the boundary between the Tongod and Sook districts, but police checks confirmed it fell under the administrative area of Sook police station.
