“The Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport Ministry (Mindet) Sabah is working together with the Insken to implement three Bangkit programmes in Sabah this year.
“The Bangkit Insken Sabah 2026 programme is an entrepreneurial development initiative by Insken in strategic collaboration with Mindet to empower local entrepreneurs to become more competitive, sustainable and scalable.
“The programme focuses on entrepreneurial development through intensive training and structured mentoring by an industry expert, Datuk Jeffry Ayah @ Datuk Cobra, operator of Misompuru Homestay in Kudat,” he said.
He said this after attending a meet-and-greet session with participants of the programme for the eco-tourism cluster here.
Ewon said he also shared various initiatives undertaken by the Sabah Government through MINDET in the areas of entrepreneurship, industrial development and transport, including coordination with Federal Government agencies.
“I hope this programme will help drive these eco-tourism entrepreneurs towards greater success. I wish all participants well,” he said.
He said the programme focuses on three sectors, namely eco-tourism, content creation for digital businesses and food and beverage (F&B), aimed at enhancing entrepreneurial knowledge, productivity and competitiveness.
He added that the programme also seeks to help entrepreneurs scale up their businesses, strengthen micro-entrepreneurs in a structured manner and provide high-impact practical exposure.
The programme runs over three months and is implemented through three phases, beginning with a three-day intensive workshop.
The second phase involves one-on-one coaching with industry mentors focusing on real business situations and monitoring the implementation of strategies.
The third phase includes practical exposure through industry visits and direct application in participants’ businesses.
