Trio jailed for keeping stolen motorcycle, watch
The offence under Section 411 of the Penal Code read together with Section 34, carries a jail term of between six months and five years jail and liability of a fine, on conviction.
Kota Kinabalu: Three individuals were sentenced to jail by the Magistrate’s Court here for having stolen property in separate cases.

They were Sharif Shafinie, Mazuan Abdul and Beverly Doy who appeared separately before Magistrate Marilyn Kelvin.

Sharif , 32, and Mazuan ,38, were each jailed eight months after pleading guilty  to jointly  keeping a stolen Modenas Kriss motorcycle belonging  to one Gilmore Esteban at about 4.30pm on Jan 5, at Jalan V12C, Bukit Payung Housing, Tuaran.

The offence under Section 411 of the Penal Code read together with Section 34, carries a jail term of between six months and five years jail and liability of a fine, on conviction.

The court heard from the prosecution that the motorcycle had left by the complainant by the roadside after an accident. 

When he returned days later, the motorcycle was missing.

Acting on information, police later recovered the motorcycle from both Sharif and Mazuan at a house in Bukit Payung, Tuaran.

In another case, Beverly was jailed eight months after pleading guilty to having a stolen Rolex watch belonging to one Aishah Anne Abdul Rahman at about 10.50am, on Dec 29, 2025, at a house in Kampung Kapak, Batu 7, Jalan Tuaran, Inanam.

The court was told by the prosecution that the watch, valued about RM80,000, went missing from the complainant’s residence in Penampang on December 25, 2025, and was believed to have been stolen during a house-cleaning session. 

Police later arrested Beverly and recovered the watch from her home with her guidance.

The court ordered all three to serve their sentences from their respective arrest dates.

Beverly was also directed to be referred to the Immigration Department after completing her sentence.

Inspector Yusdi Basri handled the prosecution.”
