Kota Kinabalu: Pensioners will receive adjustments beginning Jan 22 in line with the implementation of Phase Two of the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA).

Public Services Director-General Tan Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan Abdul Aziz said the adjustment demonstrates the government’s appreciation for pensioners who have contributed to the nation’s development and nation-building.

“The government has never sidelined pensioners from the civil service system. They continue to be cared for and given attention. This pension adjustment is part of that commitment,” he said while attending the Madani Ziarah Kasih Programme at Kampung Sembulan on Sunday.

During the programme, Wan Ahmad Dahlan presented assistance to former Administrative Assistant of the Sabah State Railways Department, Ng Siew Fong @ Faridah Abdullah, 72, and homemaker Lily Tay @ Nur Izzarah Amani, 53.

Both are widows of the late Awang Muhamad Karim, a Sabah Public Works Department pensioner who passed away in late November.
