SANDAKAN: Land and structure compensation for Phase 1B of the Pan Borneo Highway Sabah project under Work Packages (WP) 25 and 26 is expected to be fully settled by June this year, involving hundreds of affected owners in Kinabatangan.
Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said the assessment covers 338 landowners and 435 structures, reflecting the scale of acquisition required before full construction momentum can be sustained.

He told reporters this after inspecting Phase 1B works in Kinabatangan during the ministry’s first 2026 Turun Padang (Turpa) programme on Friday.
The inspection focused on WP25, which upgrades the 14.97km Kampung Perpaduan Datuk Moh–Sukau road, and WP26, covering the 18km stretch from Sukau to Kampung Lot M.
The visit also reviewed emergency major repairs on badly worn existing roads, with provisional sums of RM8 million for WP25 by JAD Reka Kaya Sdn Bhd and RM10 million for WP26 by PWMW Construction Sdn Bhd to keep roads passable while permanent works progress.
