SANDAKAN: Borneo Rainforest Lodge (BRL) celebrated its team’s success at the Borneo Bird Festival 2025, which brought together birdwatchers, photographers, and conservation enthusiasts from across the region.
The event, held on Oct 25–26 at the Rainforest Discovery Centre, saw BRL Junior Naturalist Ak Mohd Shahrin Nizam bag several top honours in multiple categories.
He won first prize in the Borneo wildlife video Contest for his moving video of a mother and baby orangutan, and first runner-up for his rare footage of mating colugos.
He also secured second runner-up in the Borneo bird video contest with his stunning Blue-throated Bee-eater video.
