Kota Kinabalu: Noemi Dyena John Tren (2nd right) received her letter of appointment as the new President of Penampang Municipal Council (PMC) from new State Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Mohd Arifin bin Mohd Arif (3rd left) at his office on Tuesday.
Also present were the ministry’s Permanent Secretary Datuk Dr Jamili Nais (2nd left) and his deputy Datuk Stanley Chong (right).

Noemi, 44, served as MPS Deputy President and when its President Francis Chong Su Ying retired, she took over as acting president.
She holds a Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management with Honours from Open University of Malaysia as well as a Diploma in Information Systems Management and Certificate in computer science and administration.
Noemi also served as Chief Appellate Judge for Native Court and has held key roles in public administration, disaster management, environmental conservation and community development.
