KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor on Wednesday witnessed a symbolic presentation of a RM4.17 million cheque replica by POIC Sabah Sdn Bhd to the State Government at Menara Kinabalu, marking the company’s financial contribution for 2025.
The amount comprised RM2 million as a direct contribution to the Sabah Government and RM2.17 million for federal loan repayments, reflecting how the state-linked company channels its earnings to meet fiscal obligations.
The cheque replica was presented by POIC Sabah’s newly appointed chairman, Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau to Finance Deputy Permanent Secretary Chee Shok Ting, underscoring the company’s leadership transition and continuity in governance.
Also present were Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick, State Secretary Datuk Seri Safar Untong, Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport Permanent Secretary Datuk Thomas Logijin, and POIC Sabah Group chief executive officer Datuk Fredian Gan.
