Speaking at the Christmas and New Year celebration and the launch of the Tamu Desa Ramayah at Kampung Ramayah, he said Penampang has the potential to grow into a second city alongside Kota Kinabalu if development is managed steadily and inclusively.
Ewon said the district’s upgrade to municipal council status meant public services would be more closely scrutinised, placing a responsibility on leaders to ensure standards of service and governance remain high.
He also pledged to continue raising Penampang-related issues in the Dewan Rakyat, with the event attended by Assistant Minister Datuk Ceasar Mandela Malakun, Moyog assemblyman Datuk Donald Peter Mojuntin, and local leaders.
