Since the job commenced and expected to be completed in March or in five months time. Driving around it is headache at times due to the traffic snarls with traffic diverted around the narrow lanes around the Hotel Labuan now undergoing demolition hardly effectively solving traffic jams during peak hours.

Many motorists are furious over the town planning decision of the Labuan Corporation (LC) as the partially closed roundabout had made it difficult to access facilities in the area and business are said to have swindled by 20 or more per cent.
Speaking on behalf of some furious motorists Vincent Pereira said the intersection is important in regulating traffic flow in and out of the town centre.
“The upgrading works should be conducted on a 24-hour basis including on holidays and weekends to speed-up, it was not a complicated job why five months is given I am sure it would not be the case if in Kuala Lumpur,” he said.
He also noted that the choice of year end for the work to start left also left much be desired because it was a holiday season with a crowded ro-ro ferry terminal usually resulting with car queue overflowing out of the terminal and lining right up to the roundabout.
This year end is followed after Christmas/school holidays with Chinese New Year and Hari Raya making the occasion even more often crowded.
“Some other period of the year for the work would definitely been better choice,” said Vincent.
