Kota Kinabalu: Sandakan wushu exponents recommended by Sabah Wushu Association (2017) returned with one silver and two bronze medals at the National Olympic Talent Carnival hosted by Negeri Sembilan at the Chin Woo Association over the weekend.

Suhazwanie Hamzah won the silver in the group A (15-16 age category) female Taijijian as well as a bronze in the Taijiquan event, while the other bronze came from Hiew Jun Hao in the group B (13-14) male Taijijian.

The three-member state team was led by Lely Manuel with Lim Shung Zer as coach, who said a total of 108 athletes (59 male and 49 female) nationwide took part in the five-day competition.

He thanked Sabah Sports Council deputy director Valerie Wong  and assistant director Rezwan for their presence and support during the competition, and also expressed his gratitude to Sabah Wushu Association secretary Lee Hon Yee for the opportunity given to the athletes.
