Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan Director of Strategic Communications Christopher Masudal expressed disappointment over the lack of allocation to expand the Dual Language Program (DLP) statewide.
“DLP is much needed for teacher training, programme implementation, and teaching aids…It must be a priority to improve English proficiency and prepare students for science, technology, innovation, and research in higher education,” stressed.
Sarawak has introduced the DLP as necessity for today’s globalised world that conducts everything in English.
Given the current situation, Christopher urged the state government to give serious attention to education and student welfare in the Sabah Budget 2026, highlighting concerns over the quality of free school uniforms as a key issue alongside calls for expanded support programmes.
