Kota Kinabalu: A total of 18,853 Sabah civil servants will receive Special Financial Assistance equivalent of one month’s salary or a minimum of RM2,000 from the State Government, next year.
State Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the payout, involving an estimated RM52.6 million, will be disbursed in two stages in 2026 — February ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri and before the Kaamatan celebration.

He said the assistance reflects the Government’s appreciation for the public service and a recognition of their role as the backbone of the public administration, which is essential to ensuring effective and efficient delivery of services to the people.
“Eligible recipients, including contract staff, open vote employees and daily-paid workers, will receive the equivalent of one month’s salary or a minimum of RM2,000 under the Special Financial Assistance provision.
“In addition, this is also extended to Sabah Government pensioners, receiving a RM1,000 Special Financial Assistance to be paid next year,” he said.
Masidi said the State has also set aside RM7.6 million to promote lifelong learning among civil servants aiming to develop officers who are knowledgeable, highly skilled and analytically proficient with future leadership qualities.
Furthermore, he said, RM16.85 million is allocated for all Sabah government agencies under human capital development to ensure the civil servants are trained, efficient and equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to face current challenges.
