DAP accepts defeat after failing to retain Sabah seats
KOTA KINABALU: DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke (pic), in a statement on Saturday, said the party accepts the voters’ decision after Sabah DAP failed to retain any of the eight seats it contested in the 17th Sabah Election.

He said DAP congratulates the winning candidates and parties in those constituencies, acknowledging the mandate given by the electorate.

Loke said the party leadership will reflect on the outcome, reassess its weaknesses, and work to rebuild public confidence ahead of the next election.

He added that Sabah DAP’s two Members of Parliament will continue doubling their efforts to serve Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan despite the party’s losses at the State level.

Loke said he takes full responsibility for the shortcomings that led to DAP’s defeat in Sabah, describing it as a lesson for the party to strengthen its work on the ground.
