KIULU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah’s (GRS) Kiulu candidate Datuk Joniston Bangkuai ended his campaign trail in the remote villages of Tudan and Gonipis with renewed confidence that voter support remains strong ahead of polling day tomorrow.
He said feedback gathered throughout the two-week campaign reflected growing trust among residents in the district’s ongoing development direction.

“At every meeting, the message we received was clear, which is that the majority of Kiulu residents want continuity so that current development is not disrupted,” he said.
Joniston added that the encouragement shown during his visits reassured him that “our efforts are understood and felt by the people on the ground.”
In Tudan, his arrival was greeted by a convoy of motorcyclists who accompanied him from the main junction to the event site, a gesture organised by villagers and young supporters eager to demonstrate their solidarity.
He said various initiatives were carried out during the previous term, including the opening and upgrading of village roads and agricultural routes, eco-tourism development, digital data improvements, and the maintenance of basic facilities and community economic opportunities.
However, he acknowledged there was still more work to be done, such as opening additional agricultural roads, completing the Kiulu Sub-District Office building, and improving internet connectivity.
“We have moved forward, but the work is not finished, and my hope is to ensure Kiulu continues progressing without having to start from zero,” he said.
Joniston noted that the election would determine whether existing development could continue, expressing confidence in voter support based on the strong community turnout throughout his campaign.
“Kiulu will contribute to a major victory for GRS to continue the State’s development agenda,” he said.
