MELAKA: A 23-year-old man believed to have been struggling with his durian business was found dead after falling from a fourth-floor car park of an apartment in Ayer Leleh on Tuesday,
Guang Ming Daily reported.
Police received a call about 12.40pm from a woman reporting the incident, which occurred shortly after the victim and his girlfriend had lunch in Kota Laksamana.
The man, identified as Tan Fook Teck from Bachang, had been selling durians and was said to be distressed over poor business in recent days.
According to police, CCTV footage showed the man and his girlfriend arriving at the car park around 12.38pm before he was seen running and falling from the building.
Investigations found no signs of foul play, and police are treating the case as sudden death pending a post-mortem at Melaka Hospital.
The victim, the only son in his family with three elder sisters, had previously worked in a fruit shop before starting his own business.
Relatives have set up a wake at the family home in Taman Merdeka, Bachang, while the funeral is scheduled for Monday.
