PAPAR: Burger King is set to open a drive-thru at Parklane City by Christmas this year. It will be Burger King’s 203rd branch in Malaysia and 16th in Sabah.
Burger King Manager Haikal Izzat said renovation of the new outlet is expected to be completed in a month. He earlier received the key from WSG Group Managing Director Datuk Susan Wong.
It is the fourth drive-thru in Benoni new township, the others being KFC, McDonald’s and A&W, making the commercial area having the most drive-thrus in Sabah.
It was learnt that 99 Speedmart took over Burger King in 2015.
Occupying a 27,000sq ft, the outlet was custom-built by WSG Group to meet Burger King’s design and operational needs.
The Benoni satellite township development has significantly contributed to Papar’s socio-economic growth, creating job opportunities and stimulating strong business activities in the district.
Susan said WSG Group is in discussions with 99 Speedmart to open a branch in Parklane City for the convenience of local residents.
She said an indoor sports arena is in the pipeline, which will provide comprehensive sports facilities for Paparians.
Under Susan’s leadership, WSG Group has developed the 100-acre township in Benoni, Papar, comprising 320 shoplots, 180 units of Parklane Villa terrace houses and 230 units of Benoni Garden Condominium.
It is now constructing 860 units of Parklane Residences Lifestyles Condominium.
Susan acquired the 100-acre land in Kampung Benoni, Papar, adjacent to the Pan Borneo Highway, in 2010 and subsequently launched the Benoni New Township project, comprising Benoni Commercial Centre and Parklane City.
