One seat left to negotiate for PH, GRS
Saifuddin said the matter was among the results of discussions held on Wednesday with several PH and GRS leaders.
Kuala Lumpur: The seat distribution negotiations between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) for the 17th Sabah state election are now almost finalised with only one seat still to be determined.

PH Secretary-General Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the matter was among the results of discussions held on Wednesday with several PH and GRS leaders.

“Yes, yesterday PH Chairman (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) and also Puan Nurul Izzah, the deputy president of the party (Keadilan Rakyat) had discussions with Sabah Chief Minister (Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor) and also Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, representing GRS (as GRS Secretary-General).

“The purpose of the meeting was to finalise the seat-sharing process and I can say that between the two of them, these have already been completed, except for one.

He was met by the media after witnessing the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding for the Pilot Conciliatory Body between the National Registration Department and the National Population and Family Development Board, here, Thursday.

Also present was Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri.

Previously, Barisan Nasional (BN) and PH were reported to have finalised the seat distribution for the 17th Sabah state election to ensure there was no clash between the two coalitions.

Hajiji on Oct 9 announced the dissolution of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly, thus paving the way for the 17th Sabah state election to be held within 60 days.

The Election Commission (EC) has set Nov 29 as the polling day for the 17th Sabah state election, with the nomination date on Nov 15 and the early voting date on Nov 25.
