Kota Kinabalu: Sabah captured two gold medals and one silver in the 36th Interstate Tenpin Bowling Championship held at the Sunway Megalanes, Sunway Pyramid, Selangor on Sunday.
Jamlidin Manap, who delivered the first gold with 1173 total pin falls in the Senior Men’s Singles Category, paid credit to senior coach Ahmad Jaludin for his guidance throughout the competition.
The second gold came from Nur Jeehan Iezzaty Suffian in the Singles Youth Girls category with a total of 1303 pin falls, while her teammate Chloe Ho Rui Zhi came in second with 1167 to take the silver.
Both players thanked the coaches and the management team for their encouragement and support to ensure their success in winning medals for the State.
The State contingent is represented by 22 athletes at the four-day competition and Sabah Tenpin Bowling Association president Rozzainny Sham Talib had earlier called on the athletes to give their best and hoped the girls team will be able to defend their overall title for the fourth consecutive time.
