PAPAR: To ensure that the nation can survive in the case of any confrontation in the South China Sea, Malaysia has to bolster security through strategic military defence in the border waters of Sabah and Sarawak, according to Papar Member of Parliament Ahmad Hassan. He said the recent series of incursions in the waters of Sabah and Sarawak by the Chinese military proved that Malaysia’s sovereignty was not respected.
According to him, the same situation was also experienced by other Asean countries which shows that China does not hesitate to deploy their troops to act against other countries if they feel their territorial rights are threatened.
