Indonesian claims trial to trafficking syabu
Kota Kinabalu: A 40-year-old Indonesian man claimed trial at the High Court here Monday to trafficking in 69 kg of syabu.

Transporter Kahar Amir (pic), who was brought before Judge Datuk Nurchaya Hj Arshad, allegedly trafficked the drugs weighing 69,136.2gm at 2.15pm on Feb 21, 2019 at the five-foot way in front of Amber Freight Agencies (KK) Sdn Bhd, Lorong Cyber Square 2 in Penampang.

Kahar pleaded not guilty to the charge framed under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, was read out to him.

The charge is punishable under Section 39B (2) of the same Act carries the death sentence or imprisonment for life and whipping not less than 15 strokes if not sentenced to death, on conviction.
