They have distributed 3,900 isolation sets, 100 boxes of three-ply masks, 26 sets of aprons 100s, 33 bottles of sanitsers 500ml, 1,000 pieces of head covers, 45 pairs of shoe covers and 150 bottles of sanitiser 100ml.

In their joint statement Tuesday, the professional bodies concerned said they will continue to work with the State Government’s Sabah Covid-19 Command Centre and other relevant bodies and will co-ordinate their efforts in the fight against Covid-19. They said the crisis is one which has brought about much adversity and uncertainty and its wide-ranging effects are likely to last long beyond the period of the Movement Restriction Order (MCO).

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the two projects together would add 28MWac of new power generation capacity, helping to stabilise electricity supply in Sabah.
It is anticipated that the fight against Covid 19 will require large financial assistance and other forms of assistance in the coming months, they said, adding the immediate concern would be the frontliners in the fight especially those in the public hospital system in Sabah.

They said the Sabah Covid-19 Command Centre had informed the professional bodies that there are shortages in various items which are necessary for testing for Covid-19 and for personal protection of frontliners in the hospital system.

“Following discussions amongst the professional bodies, quotations were obtained and supplies of these items were purchased. It is fortunate to have the medical and pharmacy professional bodies to assist in this regard.

“Each professional body embarked on collecting donations from their respective members and all donations were pooled. By working together,

there would be better coordination so that the assistance rendered will be more efficient and effective,” they said.
