Kota Kinabalu: The State Ministry of Women, Health and People’s Wellbeing is closely monitoring the tuberculosis (TB) situation in the State.
The Ministry, in a statement, said it is working together with the State Health Department to strengthen monitoring efforts and ensure the public continues to have access to prevention, early detection and treatment services.

“Response measures are already in place and the public is advised to remain calm but stay alert,” it added.
Members of the public are encouraged to practise good respiratory hygiene, ensure proper ventilation at home and workplaces, and seek medical attention if they experience symptoms such as a cough lasting more than two weeks.
Meanwhile, Minister Datuk Julita Majungki visited the temporary relief centres (PPS) at SMK Tandek and SMK Tandek 2 in Kota Marudu on Saturday following floods caused by continuous heavy rain.
She said the centres are operating smoothly under the coordination of the Disaster Operations Control Centre (PKOB) and relevant responding agencies.
Several villages, including Kampung Beliajung, Kampung Tandek and Kampung Marasinsim, were affected, with evacuation operations carried out by the Civil Defence Force (APM), Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) and police, relocating families as a precaution.
Weather conditions have since stabilised, water levels are showing a downward trend and no fatalities or injuries have been reported.
The Ministry said it will continue to monitor the situation closely and ensure assistance is provided to affected communities.
